Thinking About Teacher Training?

Whether you're dreaming of teaching, looking to deepen your practice, or simply curious about what a yoga teacher training involves, you're warmly invited to join this free online information evening.

I'll share the vision behind the 2027 training, talk through the curriculum, dates, and commitment involved, and answer any questions you may have.

After nearly two decades of full-time teaching and fifteen years of training teachers, I've learned that great teachers are shaped through practice, mentorship, curiosity, and experience. This evening is a chance to explore whether this path feels right for you.

I look forward to meeting you.

200hr Yoga Teacher Training

Sussex Weekend Modules

A small-group apprenticeship in yoga teaching, somatics, sequencing, philosophy, and nervous system awareness.

This is a 200-hour training rooted in embodied practice, intelligent sequencing, and real teaching skill—designed for those who want to understand yoga in the body, not just in theory.

We practise together, study together, and—importantly—we share food, conversation, and community as part of the learning.

What makes this training different?

This is a small group, apprenticeship-style training.

Teacher training is about far more than learning to sequence a class or remember anatomy. It is a process of discovering your own voice, deepening your relationship with the practice, and learning alongside others who are on a similar path.

Many graduates tell me that the friendships, support, and sense of community became just as valuable as the curriculum itself.

This training draws on:

  • traditional yoga asana, philosophy, and meditation

  • somatic awareness and nervous-system regulation

  • functional anatomy and embodied sequencing

  • restorative, yin, and subtle practices

  • the realities of teaching real humans, in real bodies

It is grounded, spacious & real, taught by working yoga instructors, therapists and experts.

Who this training is for

This training is suitable if:

  • You love yoga and feel ready to deepen your relationship with it

  • You’re curious about teaching, but don’t want pressure or hype

  • You value depth, embodiment, and thoughtful learning

  • You want to train with women at a similar stage of life

  • You’re looking for mentorship — not just certification

You do not need to be:

  • hyper-flexible

  • loud or extroverted

  • ready to teach immediately

Our graduates go on to teach in studios, gyms, education & clinical settings, running retreats, and corporate wellness work

Lead Trainer

Teaching yoga full-time since 2009, Bryony is the founder of Be Yoga Sussex and has mentored hundreds of students and many teachers through steady, long-term practice.

Her approach bridges a clear, evidence-informed understanding of the nervous system with heart-led, spacious, and creative movement. Training with the Minded Institute (neuroscience, mental health, and the nervous system) sits alongside influence from Shiva Rea’s embodied, devotional, and fluid approach to yoga, allowing teaching that holds both precision and soul.

Teacher trainings have been running for many years, with an emphasis on integrity, care, and real-world teaching. Those trained through this lineage have gone on to shape the wider yoga community — including the founder of Hotpod Yoga.

At the heart of this work is a belief that excellent teachers are shaped slowly: through time, practice, mentorship, and trust, rather than performance or pressure.

Bryony is joined on each 200hr training by guest lecturers, Anatomy expert physiotherapist Silvia Laurenti & Matthew Clarke, associate professor at SOAS, expert in Ayurveda & Natural Health coach Emma Newlyn, and popular Sussex teacher Julie K
